Arsenal vs Everton live: 3-1 victory sees Gunners win Barclays Asia Trophy Final

Petr Cech makes his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt in a strong side to take on Everton in the Barclays Asia Trophy final.

Arsene Wenger confirmed that the players not selected for Wednesday’s 4-0 victory over a Singapore XI would take part today and that includes the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey.

Olivier Giroud leads the line for Arsenal with Theo Walcott likely to line up on the right. Jack Wilshere is the only player to start both matches of the Asia Trophy.

Wednesday’s hat-trick scorer Chuba Akpom is on the bench, where he is joined by club captain Mikel Arteta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wojciech Szczesny.

Roberto Martinez has named Chelsea transfer target John Stones in his Everton lineup, which will also see another player rumoured to be on the way out, James McCarthy, start in midfield.

After scoring a hat-trick against the Singapore Select XI, Wenger confirmed that Akpom will not be sent out on loan this season.

“He won't be going out on loan," said Wenger. "I sent him out on loan last year because I thought he needed that.

"But this season no, I plan to keep him with us. It's down to performance and attitude and he has the assets to be a big talent. And, after that, to be an efficient player week in week out, that's the target.”
