In Arsenal’s first home match since their opponents had eliminated them from the FA Cup Arsene Wenger’s side quickly quelled dissenters around the Emirates as Sanchez opened the scoring.
Iwobi and Danny Welbeck had combined well down the left before the former fired a cross to the backpost where Sanchez was on hand to head low. Heurelho Gomes got a hand on the effort but could do nothing to keep out the rebound.
Watfod rallied in the closing moments of the first half, with Gabriel looking a weak link at the back, but as pressure seemed to be mounting Arsenal found a second, this time with Sanchez turning provider for Iwobi to slot home.
Any concerns that Arsenal could throw away their advantage were dispelled in a dominant start to the second half, which saw a Hector Bellerin cross deflect off Ben Watson past Gomes.
A final minute strike from substitute Theo Walcott secured a second 4-0 win in less than a month for Arsenal; whether it will be enough to add to the pressure on Leicester and Tottenham remains to be seen.
