AC Milan are interested in signing want-away Arsenal midfielder Krystian Bielik.

The 21-year-old is eyeing up a move from the Gunners after being told he is not part of Unai Emery’s first-team plans for the coming season.

Bielik believes he is ready to make an impression at Emirates Stadium having developed his game during loan spells at Birmingham, Walsall and Charlton since arriving as an unknown teenager from Legia Warsaw in January 2015.

However, although senior figures at Arsenal believe he has considerable potential, they would prefer he signed a new contract and spent another season learning his trade on loan.

Bielik has a contract with Arsenal until 2021 and the club are reluctant sellers at this stage creating something of a stalemate.

The Poland Under-21 international – who can play in defence or midfield – made 31 appearances last term in Charlton’s successful League One promotion campaign but would find a move to the San Siro difficult to turn down if it including a clearer path to the first team.

Milan have also been strongly linked with a move for Lucas Torreira but the prospect of Bielik breaking through at Arsenal would be even tougher were the club to formalise their long-standing interest in Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina.

Standard Sport revealed in August 2017 that former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger rejected recommendations from within his own scouting staff to sign the midfielder shortly before he left Juventus to move to the south coast in an £18million deal.

Arsenal have been linked with a fresh approach in the current window and although other areas of the squad are considered a higher priority, it is thought the club have asked to be kept informed of Lemina’s availability. Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the situation.
