Arsene Wenger is unsure over a return to football management but insists he is not retired after leaving Arsenal in the summer.

The Frenchman called time on 22 years at Arsenal at the end of last season, though the decision is understood to not have entirely been up to the manager after a period of decline in recent seasons.

Wenger is in no rush over making a decision on any future employment, having recently played in a match in honour of Michel Platini's late father, Aldo, and was in attendance at Fifa's 'The Best' awards on Monday.

"To be honest, for the moment, I have not really thought about that because I fixed myself something whereby in the first few months I would not take any decisions," L'Est Republicain.

"So I have not been too worried about that. It is not even going through my head.

He added: "No, I am not retired. If I was I would have been for a long time. I will be 69 in October.

Asked if he would take another managerial role, Wenger replied: "I don’t know, I don’t know."
