Barca hit out after Lionel Messi is pole-axed

Injury: Lionel Messi in pain
11 April 2012

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was furious after Lionel Messi suffered suspected ankle ligament damage in the 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid last night.

The World Player of the Year was carried off after a tackle by Atletico defender Tomas Ujfalusi.

Messi was having tests on the injury today and although he did not break a bone, the striker is set to be out for at least a fortnight.
