Jurgen Klopp has backed Liverpool to come back stronger in the Premier League title race after a shock 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth on Sunday.

Klopp's side led 3-1 with 14 minutes to play, but Eddie Howe's Bournemouth scored three goals - the last an injury-time winner from Chelsea loanee Nathan Ake - to leave Liverpool four points off Antonio Conte's league leaders.

The result also sees Liverpool remain one point behind second-placed Arsenal, but Klopp says his players must learn from the defeat and capitalise on it to become a title force.

Asked if the result could end up helping his team, the German told Sky Sports: "Of course it can. No way is without rocks or stones.

"All the time you have to jump over hurdles. We didn't need this today, but now we have it and we have to use it."

Former Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp had no complaints about the manner of the defeat, saying: "It's absolutely a deserved win for Bournemouth - congratulations on this performance and this big fight.

"I think for a long part of the game we were the better side, but in the decisive moment we gave the game away.

"We opened the door and Bournemouth ran through with all they had. They stayed in the game and scored some wonderful goals, which they forced, so it's absolutely deserved."
