Chelsea have continued their unbeaten start to the season after seeing off Burnley at Turf Moor.

Alvaro Morata scored his third Premier League goal of the season to give the visitors a first-half lead before Ross Barkley added a second with a precise effort from range.

Willian added gloss to a dominant Blues’ performance away from home, cutting in from the left to curl home a third shortly after the hour mark before Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored his fourth in four days in injury time.

Maurizio Sarri’s side travelled to Lancashire without top goal scorer Eden Hazard, left back in London having failed to recover from a back problem suffered in the draw against Manchester United.

Barkley was superb in filling the creative void left in the Belgian’s absence, taking two Burnley defenders out of the game with a superb through ball for Morata, who finished with the poise that has so often deserted him in 2018.

Sarri was forced into an early change after 30 minutes with Pedro heading straight down the tunnel for treatment, giving Loftus-Cheek another chance to shine after his mid-week hat-trick against BATE Borisov.

Chelsea largely controlled the first half with Barkley doubling their lead 12 minutes into the second period. Given far too much room by the Clarets defence, the former Everton youngster was invited to take the shot on from 25 yards out, finding the bottom corner having beaten Joe Hart.

Barkley’s involvement in his side’s third was minor, although it was enough to bring his tally up to three goals and three assists in his last Premier League starts.

His layoff set off Willian down the inside left channel, with the Brazilian cutting inside past Johann Gudmundsson before finding the far corner from just outside the box.

Loftus-Cheek tapped home a late fourth, with Chelsea unbeaten in their opening 10 games for the fourth time in Premier League history.
