Seventy football clubs are set to find out who they will face in the first round of the Carabao Cup later this week.

The first-round draw takes place on Thursday when ex-England internationals John Barnes and Ray Parlour reveal 35 different ties.

But after being held in far-flung locations such as Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City in recent seasons, this year's draw takes place a little closer to home.

Here's everything you need to know about the draw.

When is the Carabao Cup draw taking place?

The draw will take place at 7pm on Thursday, June 20.

It will be live from a branch of Morrisons in Colindale, north London, which is just three miles from Wembley.

How many fixtures are being announced, and which teams will be involved?

Barnes and Parlour will select 35 fixtures for the first round from 70 football league teams, including relegated Huddersfield.

Salford City are set to make their debut in the competition after their promotion to the league in May.

Cardiff and Fulham will join the competition in the second round, along with the Premier League clubs not competing in Europe.

Manchester City go into the competition as defending champions after beating Chelsea on penalties in February's final at Wembley.

What are the Carabao Cup dates for 2019-20?

The matches are scheduled to take place the week starting August 12.

The final will be played on March 1, 2020.

How can I watch the Carabao Cup draw?

Fans will once again be able to watch the draw live, either in store or on the Carabao Cup Facebook page.

Why is the draw taking place in a supermarket?

While the draw has taken place in some pretty exotic locations previously, Thursday's draw is arguably in one of the stranger places, with it taking place at a Morrisons supermarket in Colindale.

Not only is the draw taking place close to Wembley, but the EFL is also billing it as a "modern-day supermarket sweep."

Parlour said: "Hosting the draw in a supermarket as fans go about their daily lives provides them with a great opportunity to engage with the competition."
