Carlo Ancelotti has cast doubt over whether Chelsea target Renato Sanches will leave Bayern Munich this summer after saying the midfielder will stay with the German giants until the end of the current transfer window.

Standard Sport reported last week that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke to Ancelotti after the Blues' 3-2 friendly loss in Singapore about potentially taking Sanches on a season-long loan.

Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge later confirmed the discussion, and said that while the club were unwilling to sell the 19-year-old - who only joined the Bundesliga side last year - they would be open to sanctionning a loan move.

Sanches made just 17 Bundesliga appearances last season as he was forced to accept a mostly substitute role following his £31.3million move to Bayern from Benfica.

And, after Sanches impressed against Chelsea in pre-season, Ancelotti insisted the midfielder will stay at Bayern until the end of the summer transfer window - though he did not make it clear whether that meant he could still seal a loan move away.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Bayern's Audi Cup match with Liverpool, Ancelotti said: "Renato Sanches will stay with us until the end of the transfer window."
