Boyhood Chelsea fan Wesley Fofana urged to make move as Leicester stand firm over £70m target

Chelsea target Wesley Fofana has been told to join the Blues as Leicester City stand firm.

Standard Sport understands that the Foxes centre-back is Thomas Tuchel's latest transfer target in defence, having missed out on both Matthijs de Ligt, to Bayern Munich, and Jules Kounde, to Barcelona.

Nathan Ake was also a target but a deal to bring the player back from Manchester City fell through, and Presnel Kimpembe has opted to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, prompting interest in long-time Tuchel target Fofana, who could cost as much as £70million.

Fofana's friend, according to Football.London, has revealed that the defender is a boyhood fan of the Blues, posting a picture of the Leicester player in a 2005/06 Chelsea kit.

He added the captions, in French, of "the New Jersey will look good on you" and "ever since you were a kid.”

However, it appears Chelsea will fail in any bid to sign Fofana, with Standard Sport understanding that Leicester will not entertain a bid and the player will not push for a move this summer.
