'Chelsea want to keep him' - Frank Lampard dismisses Antonio Conte exit talk

Frank Lampard has hailed Antonio Conte's achievements and dismissed reports of a Chelsea exit.

The Italian led the Blues to the Premier League title in his first season in England, winning a record 30 of 38 games along the way with a points haul of 93.

Standard Sport understands Conte was uneasy with a lack of signings so far for his squad but claims over a strained relationship were overplayed with a new contract always in the offing.

Lampard is excited about the future of Chelsea in Conte's hands, with a return to the Champions League coming next season and the players the Italian hopes to bring to Stamford Bridge.

"I think he's been fantastic, I'm a huge fan of his [and] I was before he came to Chelsea.

"They won the league so emphatically from the position they were in the year before when they had been playing very below par.

"He personally deserves a lot of credit for what they did last year and I'm sure the club want to keep him.

"In the modern day, there's always lots of talk about speculation about futures and himself and about players at the club, but I'm sure the people at the top want to keep him, keep the continuity going into the Champions League and keep on improving.

"The players I'm seeing them linked with will improve the team and you will see a very strong Chelsea this season."
