David Luiz to Chelsea: Gary Lineker warns N'Golo Kante that £34m PSG defender will 'test' him

Gary Lineker has warned N'Golo Kante that he faces a challenge at Chelsea if Antonio Conte succeeds in a shock deadline day transfer to bring David Luiz back to Stamford Bridge.

It is believed Luiz is already travelling to the capital to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.

Chelsea have won all three of their opening Premier League games under Conte this season, with £34m summer signing Kante quickly becoming an important player for the Italian coach.

Such is the Leicester title winner's work rate that he has earned the nickname 'The Rat' from his Chelsea team-mates, according to Eden Hazard.

But former Tottenham and Leicester striker Lineker - who celebrated the Foxes' 2015/16 title triumph by making good on a promise to present Match Of The Day in his underwear - says Luiz's gung-ho approach may put even Kante's levels of endurance to the limit.

Responding to rumours of a potential deal for Luiz on Tuesday night, Lineker tweeted: "Rumours that @ChelseaFC have bid £30million for David Luiz. That'll test you @nglkante."

Chelsea made their move for the Brazil international last night having missed out on a number of defensive targets throughout the summer.

Luiz left Chelsea in a £50m deal just two years ago after his relationship with then manager Jose Mourinho soured.

Transfer Deadline Day: Seven possible final day moves

But the 29-year-old is keen on a switch back to the Blues, where he won three trophies, including the Champions League, between 2011-14.
