Fernando Torres feels Liverpool are moving in right direction

11 April 2012

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is confident the team is heading in right direction under manager Kenny Dalglish.

Although yesterday's 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby was the first time the new Reds boss had not been beaten in three matches since taking over from Roy Hodgson, performances on the pitch have already shown a marked improvement.

Torres' own form has also taken an upturn since Dalglish's arrival, with a menacing display against Everton - in which he hit the post and caused the visitors defence immeasurable problems - following on from his superbly-taken goal in the midweek defeat at Blackpool.

The Spain international reflected the sentiments of his manager and the general feeling within the squad by stating his belief that things were getting better after a dismal opening half to the season.

"We are disappointed with the result but we are improving and moving in the right direction," said the 26-year-old.

"The performance of the team was very good again and we are playing better.

"The most important thing is getting results but if we keep playing like that they will come soon.

"Our target is just winning games. We will see what happens in the next game because we need to start getting three points in every game.

"We will see what happens at the end of the season but we have to start winning because it's a long time since our last one (against Bolton on New Year's Day)."
