Adrian Mutu has rubbished reports he was denied an visa at the Indian embassy in Bucharest after arriving to the appointment drunk.

The 35 year-old former Chelsea striker, who in 2004 admitted playing for the Blues with cocaine in his system, signed for FC Pune City in September but will miss the club's opening match after failing to secure the document required to enter the country.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Romanian forward was 'visibly drunk' and was asked by staff to return later to finalise the paperwork.

But Mutu has hit out at suggestions he was under the influence of alcohol.
