Fulham striker Kostas Mitroglou scores wonder-goal for reserves

Standard Sport14 February 2014

Fulham £12million January signing Kostas Mitroglou has experienced the perfect start to life at Craven Cottage, scoring a brace on his debut.

The Greece international was brought to west London on transfer deadline day to fill the void left by the outgoing Dimitar Berbatov - but a niggling knee problem means Mitroglou is yet to feature for the first team.

However, his impressive display in the Under-21’s 5-3 victory over Aston Villa will come as a welcome boost to the Premier League’s basement club.

The 25-year-old stepped up his recovery to put Fulham in front before sending a thumping long-range effort into the top corner (0:35).

And he is in line to make his senior debut in the relegation six-pointer at The Hawthorns on February 22.
