Nuno Espirito Santo is adamant Harry Kane is staying at Tottenham.

Kane has asked to leave Spurs and Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all contacted his representatives about a potential move.

Nuno is planning talks with Kane when he returns to pre-season training but the new Tottenham head coach insists the England captain is not for sale.

In his first press conference since being appointed, Nuno said: “Harry is our player. That’s period.

“No need to talk about anything else. Now is the moment for Harry to recover his energy, to rest and when he comes again we will have time to speak, to have good conversations.

“But now as I say, now is the moment for Harry to rest to prepare for what is coming. And what’s coming, I am looking forward to him joining the group and start working together.

“I am excited to work with all the players. Of course, Harry is a top player, one of the best in the world. So what is best is to work with the best around, and Harry is one of those.”

Discussion around Kane’s future unsurprisingly dominated Nuno’s first press conference and asked if he needs clarity around the situation, he said: “I don’t doubt in mind.

“I have no doubts. What I wish is Harry to recover well, to have a good rest and when he arrives he will feel that everyone has to commit ourselves to become better, and we are very ambitious.

“We are ambitious people and we want to do it well, and we count on Harry on that.
