Harry Kane transfer latest: Jose Mourinho believes Tottenham star should stay in Premier League

Jose Mourinho believes Tottenham striker Harry Kane should play in the Premier League next season as that is where he is happy.

Kane is ready to leave Spurs this summer and is attracting the interest of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Clubs from mainland Europe are also expected to be interested in the England captain, such as LaLiga duo Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Mourinho, however, believes Kane should stay in the Premier League.

“He is one of the top strikers in the world. I did enjoy it (working with Kane) very much,” he told The Sun. “I love his partnership with [Heung-min] Son.

“I think he has to play where he is happy. And I think he is happy in England. He is a very Premier League guy.”

Asked if he sees the same ambition in Kane as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo, two other top stars he has also coached, Mourinho said: “Yes, but when I work with these guys they were winning titles. It is about legacy. Legacy is about medals.

“But who knows? In five weeks Harry could be a European champion.”
