Harry Redknapp has revealed he could be about to sign Croatia goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa a year after a knee injury wrecked a loan move to White Hart Lane.
The Tottenham boss has taken another look at the Spartak Moscow stopper after the 31-year-old made a full recovery from the serious ligament damage he suffered last summer.
Pletikosa has been capped 80 times for his country and would provide competition for Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini.
Redknapp said: "I might be taking another goalkeeper from Croatia: Pletikosa. There is every chance that I might be getting him so that's good."
The Spurs manager has a liking for Croatian players with three already at White Hart Lane in Luka Modric, Vedran Corluka and Niko Kranjcar.
Redknapp added: "I would say the best players I've ever managed have been Croatian boys.
They're fantastic boys. I have had Igor Stimac, Slaven Bilic, Davor Suker. Robert Prosinecki was a genius. Fantastic footballers and all great guys."
Although Gomes struggled when he joined Spurs he is now the clear No1 and his performances last season were integral to the club finishing fourth.
Cudicini's campaign was cut short in horrific circumstances last November when he suffered pelvic and wrist injuries in a motorbike accident.
There was initially talk that the Italian's career could be over but he fought back to fitness and was rewarded with a new one-year contract by the club.
Cudicini played his first game in eight months last week and was in goal again as Spurs began their tour of America with a 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.

Spurs would have lost but for two great stops from the Italian late on, however, midfielder Tom Huddlestone believes the team can be satisfied with their display.
He said: "San Jose are halfway through the MLS season and they are firing on all cylinders. For most of our lads, it was only our second friendly in pre-season.
"It was a good game for us, both teams were comfortable on the ball and the only shame was that there were no goals for the fans.
"It was very warm out there and the main thing is the lads getting their fitness and everyone got that."
