Jurgen Klopp takes Liverpool into Sunday's Capital One Cup final for what could be his first taste of silverware in England - a match that could also be Manuel Pellegrini's last chance of success as Manchester City manager.

Sunday's Wembley final represents a huge chance for both clubs to boost morale with a trophy before the run-in to the end of a season which has not gone to plan for either side.

City headed into the 2015-16 season with high hopes as they spent over a combined £100 million on Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, but seven league defeats see Pellegrini's side sitting six points behind table toppers Leicester.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have struggled despite sacking Brendan Rodgers in October, with replacement Klopp yet to find consistency with the Champions League qualification places nine points away as the Reds sit eighth.

The Capital One Cup realistically represents the clubs' main opportunity for silverware this term with City and Liverpool facing tough Champions League and Europa League battles respectively, while both sides have exited the FA Cup.
