Jadon Sancho has stirred the transfer pot, teasing Liverpool fans tuning in to Trent Alexander-Arnold's Instagram Live on Thursday.

Liverpool are long-term admirers of Sancho and would quite happily have swooped for the winger signature when he left Manchester City in 2017 were it not for strained relations between the clubs.

Jurgen Klopp has talked up the Borussia Dortmund man on several ocassions, but his £120million pricetag will likely prove a major stumbling block for the Reds this summer.

Asked about a potential move for his England colleague, Alexander-Arnold said: "If he came to us, he'd make our team better.

"So, I'd be more than happy for him to come because I played with him at England and he's a special, special, special, special talent."

Sancho was seemingly watching the Q&A, and teased Liverpool fans with a cheeky reply. The Dortmund star posted four eyes emojis (below), letting Alexander-Arnold know his comments had been noted as he responded from lockdown in Germany.

Dortmund say they are totally relaxed about the situation, although sources within the club had expected him to join Manchester United before the coronavirus pandemic halted football.

Whether the economic climate will allow for deals north of £100million come the end of the season remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: top clubs across Europe will be monitoring Sancho's situation with a keen eye.
