Jose Mourinho won't quit Real Madrid, insists Luka Modric

Luka Modric is convinced Jose Mourinho will stay at Real Madrid despite reports suggesting he will leave the Spanish champions at the end of the season.

Mourinho’s relationship with president Florentino Perez is under increased scrutiny with Real 11 points behind Barcelona and fans critical of his management.

The former Chelsea manager (above) has been linked with a return to the Premier League but, ahead of tonight’s Champions League game against Ajax at the Bernabeu, ex-Tottenham midfielder Modric said: “He has a long contract and I really hope he stays here for a long time.”

Modric, who left White Hart Lane in August, added: “I am progressing and adapting well now.”
