Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has criticised Oscar for disappointing performances during the season’s crucial run-in.

The Brazilian enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring six goals before Christmas and keeping fan favourite Juan Mata out of the side.

But after accusing Eden Hazard of failing to sacrifice himself for the team, Mourinho has now expressed his disappointment at Oscar’s fluctuating form.

"I think he was our best player for months, from August to November or December. He was absolutely fantastic. And after that he was up and down," Mourinho explained.

"He arrived in the crucial moment of the season in a down. Injuries, couldn't train, was trying to arrive to the game but didn't, was a doubt for the game, the game was too big to play with a doubtful player, so he arrived in the crucial moment of the season in a low.

Asked if Oscar had already turned his attentions to the summer World Cup in Brazil, Mourinho added: "There are things you can't resolve."
