Knee surgery rules Manchester United defender Phil Jones out for two months

Manchester United defender Phil Jones will be sidelined for up to two months after undergoing knee surgery.

The England international sustained the injury in training earlier this week.

United said on its website that Jones "had surgery on a knee meniscus tear sustained in training that will require 6 to 8 weeks' rehabilitation."

He hasn't played for United yet this season after injuring his back in preseason.
