'Pleased and proud': Loic Remy is set for a move to Marseille

Marseille are closing in on the signing of coveted Nice striker Loic Remy.

The south-coast club are believed to have agreed a fee with Nice, with reports in France suggesting it is in the region of 15million euros (around £12.4million), and the France international is excited at the prospect of linking up with the current Ligue 1 champions.

"I am very pleased and proud that Marseille are interested in me," Remy, a target for Spurs, said in L'Equipe.

"After waiting so long for a transfer, everything has accelerated very quickly. I'm surprised.

"I need time to think but I am committed (to moving)."
