Manchester City man is QPR’s technical director

Queens Park Rangers have appointed Mike Rigg as their technical director, reuniting him with Mark Hughes.

He has been head of scouting at Manchester City since June 2008, the same month Hughes took charge as manager there. They have also worked together at Blackburn and with Wales.

Rigg oversaw a significant restructure of City’s international scouting network but will have a much wider remit at Loftus Road. The move is amicable and the 43‑year-old has left City with the best wishes of the club.
