Louis van Gaal has said wants to add creative options to his Manchester United squad before transfer deadline day.
The Dutchman is still in the market for a marquee signing this summer despite already completing five signings since the end of last season.
He has spent north of £70million bringing Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger through the doors at Old Trafford but is not satisfied the rebuilding job is complete.
Van Gaal believes rival clubs will still have the upper-hand against the Red Devils because his squad lacks a bright spark who can break the deadlock against defensive teams.
“Chelsea have Hazard,” he said.
“He can always make goals, he can always make an action and decide a goal. Chelsea also have Willian and Oscar. Manchester City have [Sergio] Agüero, it’s the same type. Barcelona has [Lionel] Messi, Neymar and [Luis] Suárez. We as Manchester United have to compete with these clubs, so we have to look also for that kind of players.
“You need creative players. You need that because you have to disorganise [teams that park] the bus and, next year, there might be more teams who are parking the bus, so we must look for more creativity.
"We have Wayne [Rooney], Mata, Depay, [Ashley] Young, [Adnan] Januzaj, Wilson, Herrera. Young has had a fantastic season, but he is not a Neymar and we have to compete with that kind of class."
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain expect Angel Di Maria to arrive at their pre-season training base in New Jersey later today to complete a £45.9 million transfer from Manchester United.
