Mark Stimson had his dream of leading Barnet out at Wembley shattered by Southend last night.

But it proved anything but realistic. Matt Paterson struck twice and Louie Soares made it 3-0 before substitute Mauro Vilhete scored a 79th-minute consolation for the Bees.

The defeat leaves Barnet free to focus on League Two survival and Saturday's visit of fellow strugglers Bradford.
