Neil Warnock hopeful of signing two or three players before window shuts

On the look-out: Warnock wants to bring new players to Loftus Road
11 April 2012

Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock is planning to enter the transfer market after enduring a difficult start to the Premier League season.

It will be a long season for QPR, promoted as winners of the Championship, if their opening 4-0 home defeat by Bolton is anything to go by. Bolton's goals came from Gary Cahill, a Danny Gabbidon own goal, Ivan Klasnic and Fabrice Muamba.

Lotus Formula One boss Tony Fernandes watched from the directors' box and looks set to push through a takeover at Loftus Road.

Warnock expects to be able to bring in new faces ahead before the transfer window shuts at the end of August.

He said: "I would love two or three top players in the next fortnight. I am confident we will get them.

"If everything is sorted [with the takeover], I am sure the club can take a giant step towards staying up."
