New signing Sead Kolasanic inspired to join Arsenal by Jens Lehmann and Thierry Henry

Sead Kolasinac is delighted to be at the same club as early football inspirations Jens Lehmann and Thierry Henry after becoming Arsenal's first summer signing.

The left-back, who can also play in a three-man defence or in midfield, has signed a five-year deal and will officially join the club on July 1 after his Schalke contract expires.

Kolasinac says he has been an Arsenal fan since childhood, with Germany goalkeeper Lehmann and club icon Henry the attractions for the youngster.

"Arsenal has a huge tradition and I followed the club as a young boy, in the days of Jens Lehmann and Thierry Henry," he said.

"Arsenal has always been a club that is well recognised in Europe and I’m pleased to be here.

"Jens Lehmann played at Schalke too, which is where I’ve come from. As a young kid, I followed his career and I always thought he was a good goalkeeper.

"I’ve been able to meet him and looking back, he was a really good goalkeeper."
