Patrick Vieira 'frontrunner for Arsenal youth post'

8 February 2013

Patrick Vieira has emerged as a frontrunner to become Arsenal's new head of youth development.

The former Gunners skipper (above) has been working as football development executive at Manchester City for the last two years but is in line to replace Liam Brady, who recently announced he would leave by May 2014.

The club are also considering another ex-star, Dennis Bergkamp, to take up the role, according to the Daily Mail.

Brady, 56, who starred for the Gunners in the 1970s and has been in his current role for 17 years, has established Arsenal’s academy as one of the finest in world football.
