Premier League season review: Tony Evans assesses Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Watford

The most unpredictable season in Premier League history is almost over. It has been thrilling and uplifting.

Few would begrudge Leicester City the title, while Tottenham fans were left to rue Arsenal finishing above them yet again after a collapse at Newcastle.

Spurs went from title hopefuls with four games left to once more feeling the pain of finishing behind the Gunners in the table - and Arsene Wenger says he is planning to spend to ensure Mauricio Pochettino's side don't follow through on their potential next season to become the dominant force in north London.

Elsewhere, West Ham's hopes of Champions League football were dashed, but Slaven Bilic is already busy building his Hammers squad for next season at the Olympic Stadium.

Chelsea jettisoned Jose Mourinho as the Special One's title defence went up in smoke in spectacular fashion,

Watford said goodbye to Quique Sanchez Flores despite ensuring a top-flight finish and an FA Cup semi-final run - Gino Pozzo has high hopes for the Hornets next term, it seems.

As for Crystal Palace, their season could end with silverware if they beat Manchester United to lift the FA Cup at Wembley - but it's a big ask considering the Eagles' form since the turn of the year.
