Alexis Sanchez faces a fitness test ahead of Arsenal’s match with Sunderland on Tuesday.

The Chile international appeared to sustain a thing injury in the weekend victory at Stoke City, and was substituted within a minute of scoring in the 4-1 victory at the Bet365 Stadium.

Speaking to the press ahead of Tuesday’s match at the Emirates, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that the Arsenal forward would face a fitness test ahead of the game.

“Alexis will have a test today,” Wenger said. “It didn’t look too good but with him you never know - he is so keen. Maybe it was just a kick.”

Wenger also confirmed that defender Laurent Koscielny is a doubt for the match.

“There is a little problem with Koscielny but everyone else should be available.”

Arsenal currently occupy fifth place in the Premier League table, three points off the top four and Champions League qualifying positions.
