Thibaut Courtois: Antonio Conte's training methods at Chelsea can be boring

Thibaut Courtois has given a glimpse into life under Antonio Conte, revealing the Italian coach has implemented a completely new regime at the club which can, according to the goalkeeper, be at times "boring".

Conte was tasked with the aim of hauling Chelsea back into contention for major titles and securing the club's place back in the Champions League when he was appointed manager in April.

The former Italy and Juventus boss is seemingly on his way to doing that, overseeing five wins from eight Premier League matches ahead of Chelsea's clash with Jose Mourinho's Manchester United side this afternoon.

Courtois has revealed just how much Conte has changed since arriving in the summer, saying the 47-year-old has introduced a stricter diet for the players and a different training regime.

Courtois told Chelsea TV: "Different managers have different ways of working.

"In terms of food, drinks and everything, he put a new regime in place.

"In training, he wanted to put his mark on the group immediately, with videos to see how we would have to train and tactically what to do.

"We have worked on that a lot and, maybe, that is sometimes boring – but it’s important to know how to do these things."

But he added: "Everyone gets on board as he is the new manager.

"You listen to him because he is the boss and he paves the way for us."
