Tottenham do not think Micky van de Ven's injury is "major" but head coach Ange Postecoglou has said he is unlikely to be fit to face Fulham on Saturday.

Van de Ven was forced off shortly after half-time in Sunday's 4-0 win at Aston Villa with a suspected hamstring injury.

The centre-back had a scan on Tuesday and Postecoglou is optimistic that he will not to be sidelined for a significant period.

"We're still getting all the information in," Postecoglou told Sky Sports on Wednesday.

"Look, he's unlikely for this weekend, we don't think it's anything major. We'll probably get some information at the back end of the week, so [he's] unlikely for Fulham.

“But with the international break hopefully it means he doesn't miss too much after that."

Van de Ven missed more than two months of action after pulling up with a hamstring injury in the 4-1 defeat by Chelsea on November 6.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a key player for Spurs since joining from Wolfsburg in a £43million deal in the summer and he was outstanding at Villa Park until he pulled up after racing back to challenge Leon Bailey.

Radu Dragusin, the January signing from Genoa, replaced van de Van and acquitted himself well, with the Romanian now in line for his first Spurs start at Craven Cottage.

Richarlison has missed the last two Tottenham matches with a knee injury but has not been removed from the Brazil squad for the upcoming internationals, including their visit to play England at Wembley, suggesting he may be available this weekend.
