I have heard people ask whether Mauricio Pochettino would seek to leave Tottenham if they cannot keep pace with the spending of the other top clubs.
I would turn the question on its head: what makes you think a bigger club would want to take Pochettino from Spurs when he hasn’t won anything as a manager?
Tottenham can’t compete with the biggest clubs financially — but neither could Jose Mourinho at Porto, and he won the UEFA Cup and Champions League.
Neither could Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, and he won five trophies from 2011-14, also reaching the Champions League Final in 2013.
You have to move forward with what the club has.
Let me be clear: I am a fan of Pochettino. He gets on with the job and he makes his players better. You rarely hear him moan or make excuses. But just as Mourinho and Klopp did earlier in their careers, he has to find a way to win with what he has.
He has done this very well so far, pushing Leicester for the title last season and keeping his team in the hunt for the top four again this term. Sooner or later, though, Tottenham need a trophy.

With Harry Kane (above) in excellent form, they will surely have a good chance. I hope to see him come up against Romelu Lukaku on Sunday, as they are two of the best strikers in the Premier League.
Which one would I rather have? It is a very close call but I would take Kane — just. His all-round game is probably a little better and I feel he will be at the top for a very long time.
