DeAndre Yedlin looks to have played his last game for Seattle Sounders as he prepares to join Tottenham in January.

The American defender is due to move to White Hart Lane ahead of schedule after initially signing a deal last summer to move to England at the start of next season.

Yedlin’s side were knocked out of the Major League Soccer Western Conference by LA Galaxy last night, paving the way for Yedlin to focus on joining Spurs.

The 21-year-old started as Seattle beat LA Galaxy 2-1 at CenturyLink Field on Sunday evening, but Juninho's away goal ensured Galaxy progressed to a fourth MLS Cup final in six seasons.

Yedlin expects to receive a Latvian passport as he has family links to the Baltic state, meaning Tottenham would not have to apply for a work permit.

His arrival will ease the pressure on manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has been juggling Vlad Chiriches, Eric Dier and Kyle Naughton at right-back with Kyle Walker still out injured.
