Mauricio Pochettino is ready to give Tottenham's youngster stars a chance to impress against Newport County in the FA Cup.

Spurs travel to Wales to face the League Two outfit, victors over Leeds in the third round, on Saturday and will rotate the squad ahead of the visit of Manchester United on Wednesday.

Youngster Tashan Oakley-Boothe has been training with the first-team squad recently and could feature, while Pochettino hinted at picking some Under-23s players after watching Thursday's 3-3 with Benfica.

Shilow Tracey scored one and assisted another, with Jack Roles and Atlanta United loanee Anton Walkes also on the scoresheet at Hotspur Way.

"Yes I think Tashan will be involved in the squad," Pochettino told reporters. "I was watching the first half of the U23s' match today and maybe we are going to pick some players from the U23s to travel tomorrow."

Toby Alderweireld is back with the squad after his hamstring injury suffered against Real Madrid on November 1 but is likely to be rested, while Pochettino is undecided about using Harry Kane.

When asked about Kane's possible involvement, Pochettino replied: "We are going to assess tomorrow the team we have. We need to assess tomorrow and take the best decision.

"We will take the best players to try to win, only thinking about trying to go to the next stage. It will be difficult because the FA Cup is always difficult to play. It's one game, it's Newport, it's a difficult pitch.

He added: "Toby, after being out for three and a half months it's not easy to be fit and give his best, like Danny Rose and different players.

"That is our main objective to provide them with the quality of training session to be fit as soon as possible to compete, not just training for 20 minutes or half an hour. That is a different thing."
