Reading's dream of reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1927 came true on Monday night after they defeated Bradford City in their quarter-final replay.

But one fan of the Royals took it upon himself to prematurely start the celebrations when he ran onto the Madejski Stadium pitch before referee Mike Jones had blown for full-time.

Usually other fans whistle and jeer pitch invaders but some even began to cheer when the fan, surrounded by stewards, began to perform somersaults.

It was a complete contrast to the incidents witnessed at Villa Park two weeks ago, when Aston Villa fans invaded the pitch in a hostile manner following their victory over rivals West Brom in their FA Cup quarter-finals

Gary Lineker, who hosted the BBC's live coverage of the match from a studio at the Madejski Stadium, had described the pitch invasion as 'lovely scenes' in the immediate aftermath of the match.

Watch the moment the fan invaded the pitch and starting showing off his work as an amateur gymnast below.
