We are talking to Emmanuel Adebayor, admits Harry Redknapp

We're in touch: Redknapp admits he's looking to land Adebayor on loan

Harry Redknapp today confirmed Tottenham are in talks with Manchester City over a loan deal for Emmanuel Adebayor and admitted his interest in FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz.

The Spurs manager watched the Costa Rica forward in action last night and said: "He is a good player but we are short in other areas.

"We're trying and we need to do some business because there are some players who are not fit for the first part of the season."

Regarding Adebayor, Redknapp added: "The chairman has been talking to City but where they are at I don't know."

Spurs have injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's Europa League clash with Hearts. Jake Livermore is the only fit midfielder with Luka Modric (groin), Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Jermaine Jenas (Achilles) and Sandro (knee) all out.

Preparations have been disrupted as Spurs will be staying at St Andrews. Redknapp said: "The Festival is on so we couldn't get a hotel - we're an hour and 45 minutes away."
