William Gallas could stay on at Spurs

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has been so impressed by the form of central defender William Gallas that he wants to trigger an option in his contract and extend it by another year.

The original agreement was just for 12 months but there was a clause included that Gallas would be given another year if he played 30 games. The former Chelsea and Arsenal star has made 18 starts so far but Redknapp has seen enough to want him to stay anyway.

Gallas, 33, has established himself as first choice to play alongside captain Michael Dawson and Spurs have been delighted with his professional attitude on and off the pitch.
