Work permit problems prevent Henrique from signing for QPR

Not joining QPR: Henrique
11 April 2012

QPR have failed in their attempt to sign Brazilian striker Henrique after he was denied a work permit.

The Brazil Under-20 international looked set for a move to Loftus Road in the wake of Mark Hughes' appointment as the club's new manager.

Although QPR had reached agreement with Sao Paulo over a deal, it hinged on the 20-year-old being given the go-ahead to play in England.

A work permit hearing was held yesterday when it was determined Henrique did not satisfy the required criteria.

A QPR spokesman said: "He didn't get a work permit for various reasons."

Among those reasons were the fact the player still has limited experience in club football, and because he has not yet made his debut for the senior Brazil team.
