Fulham fans pay for Premier product

Fulham are set to put some season tickets up up by more than 60 per cent next season.

The move comes as the club's prices are still pegged to First Division levels after they froze them for their first year in the Premiership.

A top-priced season ticket at Craven Cottage this year was just £355 making it one of the cheapest of its kind in the country.

The most expensive pass for next season will cost £570, still one of the most competitive in London, while the cheapest will go up to £437 from £304.

Spurs, in contrast, announced price rises this week of up to 33 per cent, making their most expensive seat £1,200.

Fulham argue their new pricing policy is necessary to fund chairman Mohamed Fayed's ambitions and manager Jean Tigana's signings.

A spokesman said: "Many of our season ticket holders have been benefiting from a price freeze and watching Premiership football at First Division prices.

"Our aim is to make watching Fulham as accessible as possible but we also need to generate income to help fulfil our ambitions. We still think the costs involved are competitive and have carried out research to ensure that is the case."

Fulham are moving to Loftus Road next season, which will cost up to £1 million-a-year in rent while Craven Cottage is redeveloped. The ground has a smaller capacity.

Also, the club announced a ? 24m record loss for the year to the end of last June.

Surgery has solved the calf and Achilles problem which has ruined Lee Clark's season. The Fulham midfielder had an operation on Tuesday and Michael Snelling, one of Fulham's physios said: "We are confident we have solved Lee's problem."

Fulham prepare for 'end of an era' party
