Eduardo Vargas is a “tidy” player who just needs time to settle into English football before he starts scoring, according to his QPR team-mate Bobby Zamora.

Vargas, 24, joined QPR on a deadline day loan deal from Serie A side Napoli after spending the second half of last season at Valencia, where he scored five goals.

The Chile striker is yet to find the back of the net with his new club after three games, but Zamora thinks he just needs time to familiarise himself with English football.

“He’s a very tidy player,” Zamora said. “He’s been with us a few weeks now and he did well again [against Southampton on Saturday].

“He’s still finding his feet and it’s a big difference in the style of football for him since he’s come here to the Premier League.

“It’s not easy, he’s still only young.

“He’s come all the way over here and he doesn’t speak any English so it takes time.”

QPR travel to face West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday before taking time out for the international break.
