Gough called up by England

England recall: Darren Gough
14 April 2012

Darren Gough and Steve Harmison have been added to England's one-day squad for the forthcoming series in the West Indies.

Gough has been recalled after missing out on the winter tours to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, while his fellow paceman, who has been in stunning form in the first two Tests in the Caribbean, was not selected for the limited over stage of the sub-continent.

Both played in last summer's NatWest Series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The tourists allowed themselves room to add two more bowlers to the squad which will compete in seven one-day internationals against West Indies following the completion of the four-match Test series.

Chairman of Selectors, David Graveney, said: "Darren has proved his fitness to our medical team and his inclusion will give us valuable experience and know-how within our bowling attack.

"He is a proven international performer and I'm sure that he will be relishing the prospect of his first England tour of the Caribbean.

"Stephen was a member of our World Cup squad last winter and is an important part of our plans for the future in both forms of the game.

"He has performed superbly against the West Indies in the Test series and we hope that he can carry this rich vein of form into the one-day arena."
