Greg declines Pakistan offer

Former Australian captain Greg Chappell has rejected the chance to become the first foreigner to coach Pakistan's national team.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Lieutenant General Tauqir Zia said that Chappell and South African Barry Richards were the two being considered for the job made vacant when Javed Miandad was sacked this week.

But Chappell, who is South Australian state cricket manager, said: "I would be unavailable for the position even if it was offered to me."
