Henry won't hide from spotlight

Thierry Henry made it clear today he will not shirk from taking another penalty despite missing the spot-kick that could have dragged Arsenal back into the game with Internazionale.

Two goals down in a game they lost 3-0, Henry's kick was saved by Francesco Toldo but the Frenchman said: "It has happened to me before and it will happen again.

"I don't know any player in the world who never missed a penalty. I can't hide. I will take the next one, of course I will."

And Henry says it is premature to hit any panic buttons: "It was a big disappointment to lose to Inter but maybe what Newcastle did last season can be a good thing for us.

"They lost three games in their group and people said they were out of it. But they went through and then people said it was amazing." Arsenal were labelled "naive" in European tactics before the game and Henry knows question marks will again be raised about Arsenal's approach in the Champions League.

He said: "Sometimes it is a bit tricky. Maybe we need to learn when we can do it and when we can't do it. The way we played in Rome last season and at other times away from home left people saying how amazing we played.

"When it doesn't work people say we are too naive and that kind of thing."

The lack of investment in the squad during the summer by manager Arsene Wenger is certain to be raised as an issue but Henry said: "It is too easy to look for excuses. Look - we were there on the pitch, it was eleven against eleven and we lost.

"It's too easy to say we should have done this or we should have done that. It's us who were on the pitch, no-one else, no money. You don't have to hide, you don't have to look for excuses."
