Hoddle plans on hold

Glenn Hoddle has abandoned any further squad rebuilding ambitions until the summer.

The Tottenham manager has already begun to shape his plans for next season after bringing Liverpool's Jamie Redknapp to White Hart Lane on a free transfer on Tuesday.

But this is his final deal before the transfer madness that is expected to follow the World Cup.

Even though the club's coffers have been boosted by a £15 million kit deal with Kappa and another £5m from a sponsorship agreement with holiday giants Thomson, Hoddle told Standard Sport: "I think Jamie's arrival is the last for this season."

Meanwhile, Hoddle said that his injured players are facing Bolton at theworst possible time.

Spurs have scored 13 goals against them in both cups and the league, but Bolton need at least another win to stay in the top flight and Hoddle admits: "It will be like a cup final for them. It's not a good time for us especially with our injury problems."

Christian Ziege, who has had an ankle operation, joins the casualty list which includes Steffen Freund, Dean Richards, Les Ferdinand, Steve Carr and Ledley King. Mauricio Taricco is back from a five-match ban.

Bolton will be without suspended defender Kostas Konstantinidis tomorrow, whilemidfield trio Ricardo Gardner (hamstring), Paul Warhurst (heel) and Stig Tofting (foot) are doubtful.
