Hull keen on ex-Rovers star

12 April 2012

Hull are set to turn to former Hull KR scrum-half James Webster in a bid to rescue their ailing engage Super League campaign.

The Black and Whites - who are just two points above bottom club Castleford after losing six of their last seven matches - have admitted for the first time that they are keen to sign Webster, who is waiting for his British passport.

"It's probably no secret that we're trying to get James Webster in if we can cut through the red tape," said Hull coach Richard Agar, whose side crashed to a 30-18 home defeat to Catalans Dragons on Sunday.

"I just feel that a player like that will make so much difference to our team.

"Because of the nature of what it is, with the red tape, it's hard to say how long it will be before we can get him.

"It's not a football issue, it's a bureaucratic issue. It's very difficult to put a time period on it because it's not a case of a systematic rugby league approach where you get your forms in. We're dealing with the red tape of the Government."
