John hit by six-game ban

Llanelli prop Phil John has been banned for six matches and fined £500 for punching Neath forward Duncan Jones in a Welsh Premiership game in May.

John was cited by the Welsh Rugby Union for his actions during the game and the punishment was determined at a disciplinary hearing in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, Bath have appointed John Connolly as their head coach for next season. Connolly has worked with Queensland, Stade Francais and Swansea.
