Johnson loves being a Blue

12 April 2012

Andrew Johnson reveals he would sign with Everton for the rest of his career if he could, in response to claims that he is homesick for the south and wants to return to London.

Johnson has been a huge hit on Merseyside, reclaiming his place in the England squad and is expected to partner Wayne Rooney up front for his country in the forthcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra.

Johnson said on the club's website evertonfc.com: "If I could sign here for the rest of my career I would do it tomorrow."

He added: "I am more than happy here, I love the club, the fans and the lads in the dressing room.

"I am sure the fans can see how much I love it here in my football, but I want to make it clear there is no truth in reports that I want to leave.

"I am loving being an Everton player and I regard it as a great honour to put that blue shirt on every week. I would love to think I will still be here in seven years."

Johnson has netted 11 goals this term following his £8.6m summer arrival from Crystal Palace.
